CPD Workshop - 3 Month Reflective Practice Group

In Person CPD Reflective Practice Group

Saturday 19 September 2026 & Saturday 17 October 2026 & Saturday 21 November 2026

Are you seeking a reflective space to think about your clients and your practice via CPD that offers the opportunity to deepen your presence, sharpen your awareness and support you in becoming a more grounded, embodied practitioner?

We are offering a Reflective Practice Group that is designed to support learning, insight and professional development through creative exploration (experimentation, embodiment and group reflection). We will create a warm, collaborative space where your lived, felt, here-and-now experience becomes one of the most powerful tools for understanding your clients and yourself.

The group permits and encourages developing new ways of being, testing and trying out how we relate to others. Groups ‘work’ by forming solid, genuine attachments and understanding ourselves in relation to others - promoting reflection, self-awareness, connection and growth.

*Please note: This is not an alternative to regular supervision but CPD for your ongoing development.

Who is this group for?

The group is open to trainee and qualified counsellors, therapists, and psychologists who are working with clients.

The group is limited to a maximum of 6 participants.

The cost is £180 for 3 groups spread across 3 months.

At the end of the 3 months a CPD certificate will be issued.

What are the aims of the group?

  • Increased clarity in working with complex client dynamics

  • Greater trust in your own moment-to-moment awareness

  • A richer understanding of your felt and relational responses and the wisdom they offer

  • Confidence in using yourself as an instrument for therapeutic change

Grounded in core Gestalt principles, the reflective practice group emphasises:

  • The Here and Now: We explore what’s alive in the moment—because your present experience holds one of the vital keys to clinical insight.

  • Embodied Awareness: You’ll be invited to notice and share your sensations, emotions, impulses and relational responses—your most immediate data.

  • Authentic Contact: Through open, respectful dialogue, we co-create a space where your voice, your body and your intuition are welcomed and valued.

  • Supportive Experimentation: Try out new ways of being with clients—and with yourself—within a safe, reflective group setting.

What makes this group different?

You're welcome to join us in the space from 0850 each day, with the session beginning at 0900.

Timings of breaks are subject to change based on group requirements, however the basic outline of each day is follows:

  • 0900 Begin

  • 1030 - Break

  • 1230 Finish

There will be 10.5 hours of group time over the 3 months. The timings will be the same on each Saturday i.e. starting at 0900 and finishing at 1230.

What is the plan for each day?

I am Alison and I am a a trauma-informed Person-Centred Psychotherapist and Supervisor with over 15 years’ experience and I have also been offering EMDR since 2024.

I am also a Supervisor trained in applying Gestalt principles to both individual and group supervision.

I holds a deep belief in the transformative power of groups and bring significant experience in facilitating group process and therapy groups.

My approach is grounded, relational and rooted in the conviction that shared experiential work can open new possibilities for growth, understanding and authentic connection.

Meet The Facilitators

Jo is a psychotherapist, EMDR therapist and Clinical Supervisor working in private practice in Brighton, UK.

Jo holds a trauma-informed, humanistic lens, which means she believes every individual is capable of change and that trauma can interrupt an individual’s path of development, including how the past can present itself in the here and now. By disentangling past from present, we’re able to show up more fully for ourselves, our clients and our loved ones.

Jo often describes herself as a 'stroke and a kick' as a therapist - by that, she’ll challenge you when appropriate and offer you just enough support to take the next steps in life. (Mixed with a healthy dose of playfulness and humour…).
